Context
Context is the wider view. What makes your research topic important? Why is it significant to you?
You can give your reader some background information.
Where to include such information? In a second paragraph or section, immediately after your introduction.
After establishing context, you can then move from the general to the specific topic of your paper and then continue with the main body.
If you need some language have a look at specifying context.
One of the most important ways of defining your working context is of course to refer to secondary sources.
If you have done primary research you should describe your research methods.

Lastly, if you are writing a longer paper it is common to review the argument as researched by other authors.
